That Pain in Your Thumb, Is surgery the only option?

Do you have a constant ache in your thumb? Have you been told surgery is your only option for relief? What if that pain in your thumb is a small motor nerve trapped in connective (scar) tissue causing the pain you feel in your thumb versus Osteoarthritis?   You are not alone in your pain, osteoarthritis in the thumb is the most common diagnosed form of arthritis affecting the hands.

If you have been given this diagnosis for your thumb, your options might have been limited to exercise, medications, splinting or surgery.  Surgery can involve the removal of a bone in your wrist, realignment of your wrist bones, fusion of the joint or joint replacement .

These might be your best or only options however I have recently found that some thumb pain that has been persistent for years is lessened or completely gone by simply releasing a motor nerve that is trapped in connective tissue near the joint and in the forearm.  I know it sounds too simple but this is exactly what I have found gives my clients freedom from their chronic pain.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions.

God Bless
