Our true identity - In Him

If we understand our true identity then we can know the love of our Father.  Our true identity is how he sees us, how he made us, what he created us for which is knowing him fully in this present Kingdom and for eternity in the Kingdom he is preparing for us.

We lost our identity, God with us, when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  But, we gained back our identity when Jesus died for us.  The time period in between, God never stopped chasing his people to bring them back, to keep them safe, to provide for them.  You see, our identity is in Him.  In the garden, they walked and talked with God and accomplished things and had everything they needed.  The deceiver made them think they didn't and opened their minds to living to self serving, selfish, fear driven lives.  When Jesus died, he won back our ability to abide with him, the Holy Spirit in us when we accept him as our Lord and Savior.  The Holy Spirit is once again God with us.  This is huge.  He says the sheep will know the voice of the Shepherd.  That means we should hear him.  We have to be willing to hear and willing to practice listening.  We have to abide with him, study his word, seek him with our whole hearts.  Of course, he has been with me all along.  I just gave my SELF credit for everything.  Now I am happy to relinquish self and have the best life guide I could ever want.  And he is with every believer!  I am part of a body of believers and we all hear his voice.  We all are running this race together.  We get to encourage each other and help each other up when we stumble.  We get to show love and kindness to each other just as Jesus shows to us.  We get to worship together just as we will for all eternity.

In the book of Job chapter 32, verse 8 says, But there is a spirit in man:  and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.  Keep reading from there and I will jump to Job 38 verse 36 where God is questioning Job to show him how much he hasn't considered.  He says, "Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?  Keep reading, it is worth it.  Now, get on your knees and just relinquish everything you have been taught, struggling with, fighting for what you don't have, competing with everyone else for everything, trying to be better, trying to be smarter, trying to make more money, trying to put your kids in everything you didn't get.  Stop and listen to your creator.  You are free, you've been redeemed, you are reconciled to him and you are forgiven.  You are able to walk in the same fullness as all your brothers and sisters.  Let's get our eyes on the real prize.

Sing this song with me, "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus", Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in his wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace.  It is where we find rest, and the life God created us for.  We don't want to miss it.
